The Turning of the Wheel of the Year

The Winter Solstice is coming up very soon. This event marks the start of the winter celebration of Yule for us Pagans and it's one of my favorites (Samhain is my absolute favorite). This marks a time of resting and planning and rebuilding our energy.
After the last several years we've had, we really need to take this time to rest and figure out where we're going and what we're going to do next year, don't you think?
The winter celebration for me is starting today. Today I'll take a ritual shower and cleanse away sticky negative energy. Of course tonight I'm working at the hospital as usual, but this is the time of year when I really want to keep my energy as clear as possible because it's the time I use to plan for the coming year. Or it used to be. Since the pandemic started I've really lost focus and stopped planning for whatever reason. This year, I'm picking it back up.
This is also the time of year that I like to practice hygge. I tend to slow down and work on things that require me to focus on what my hands are doing, giving my brain and my anxiety a chance to settle down and relax. This year I'm working on another scrap project to add to the cozy, comforting feeling I need. It's a square puff blanket!! I stumbled across the pattern on Pinterest and decided it would be perfect to use up all the little leftover yarn bits I have floating around.
As I begin planning for next year, I'll share the process and some tools I use with you. For right now though, all I ask is that you be well, be kind and stay warm.
BLESSED YULE!!!
